Brief bio: Sharon Sherman has been a Career Advisor for postdoctoral fellows and graduate students at CAPS: Your U of a Career Centre since 2008. Through networking and happenstance, Sharon discovered her own career path and has gained a solid background in the career development field with over 15 years of experience in public and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining CAPS, she worked with Veterans Affairs Canada. Aside from her rewarding career, Sharon enjoys learning about the built environment, listening to Brazilian music, playing tennis and going for long walks with her high spirited Mexican rescue dog.

Sharon gave a wonderful talk about how to optimizing the translation time during the PDF period for people with Ph. D. degrees with various book references. In addition, she also introduced the services (for example: resume and cover letter review and online job postings) at CAPS for postdoc fellows that currently are free.
